The AAF (and Memphis!!!)

Week 3 of the AAF is in the books and we’ve got a lot to cover! Let’s start with some good news:

Week 3 Bets

I continue to slay it in Kyle’s absence as he recovers in Gambling Anon…oh, wait, he’s just working, I think.

Arizona Hotshots (-4.5) @ Salt Lake Stallions O/U 44 (1-1)
Memphis Express @ Orlando Apollos (-15) O/U 45 (1-1)
Birmingham Iron (-6.5) @ Atlanta Legends O/U 38.5 (0-2)
San Antonio Commanders @ San Diego Fleet (-2.5) O/U 43.5 (2-0)

Okay, so breaking even in gambling isn’t ever good – but hey! I told our good friend, Alex, to take the Under in the Fleet game – so he wins, too! That’s 4-4 this week and 9-7 for the season. I’m trying, Kyle. I’m trying.

The Memphis Express

The Memphis Express FINALLY listened to my weird complaints (maybe they’re reading after all) and benched Christian Hackenberg for the likes of Zach Mettenberger. The results? Their first TD pass of the season, their second TD pass of the season, and a hell of a comeback that fell just short against probably the best team in the AAF (Power Rankings have vanished). The defense remains the number 1 defense for 3 quarters, but somehow the 4th quarter has caused some issues. I think it’s a stamina issue (no comments). With Mettenberger moving forward, I think the Express have a good chance at securing that first win in week 4! Speaking of…

Week 4 slate

The betting lines aren’t quite up yet – so stay tuned, there – but here are the four games for Week 4. The first two are Saturday and the other two are Sunday (4pm/8pm both days).

San Diego Fleet @ Memphis Express
Orlando Apollos @ Salt Lake Stallions
