Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great Holiday SZN. It’s a New Year so that’s as good a time as any for me to start fresh with a clean slate for gambling! (If only it really worked that way, unfortunately you still owe your bookie all of that money, but I’m here to help you win it back!)
So here they are – the first picks of 2019
Thursday night we have a little college basketball action. Conference games have arrived and not a moment too soon.
Iowa @ Purdue – First off I can’t mention Purdue without a quick RIP for Tyler Trent. His passion for life and the way he carried himself with such grace while fighting cancer was nothing short of spectacular and showed that he was the very definition of what it means to be a Boilermaker. On to the basketball, Purdue has been very “Meh”, this year. They have stretches where they look good, but they struggle to play well for a full 40 minutes. I just don’t trust them to win by 10 so I’ll take Iowa +9.5 (Purdue Played their best game of the year and I am happy to lose this one)
Off to a slow start in 2019, but things will pick up!
ITS NFL PLAYOFF TIME
This is a cause for celebration, and what better way to celebrate than by betting money on it!
Colts @ Texans – these are two very hot teams, but the Colts are just clicking right now. Team of destiny-ish stuff. I’ll be honest, after they gave up 42 points to the Jets, I had given up on them, but I’m not too proud to admit when I’m wrong. And I’m very glad I was wrong. Now, this Colts team just wins. And they win so well, that they have earned the first Money Shot of 2019. This will be a close one, but lock it in, Colts+1. (THE MONEY SHOT STAYS HOT IN 2019!)
Seattle @ Dallas – I know what you’re thinking, “Bet the Cowboys in a playoff game?? How Stupid do you think I am Kyle?” and while my first thoughts when thinking of the Cowboys in the playoffs is also them finding new and funny ways to lose games, I have some news that may point otherwise. Most of those heartbreaking Dallas loses come in the Divisional Round, the Cowboys are actually 3-1 in their last Wild Card Round games. So, be them this week and bet AGAINST them next week. Got it? Good. Cowboys-1.5 (WINNER)
Chargers @ Ravens – You know what, I’ll say it. I love Phil Rivers. I don’t know if it’s his deep southern accent, his army of children, or maybe its all the funny faces he makes while on the sidelines. ↓↓
Or maybe its just because my dad’s name is also Phil and my high school mascot was also the Chargers (Shout out North Decatur Jr./Sr. High) but dammit I believe in Phil. If the Colts get eliminated, I’m rooting for the Chargers. So I’ll take them with the points. Chargers+2.5 (WINNER)
Philadelphia @ Chicago – Big Dick Nick Foles cannot be stopped. For some reason when the Eagles play him, they just win. They were an afterthought a month ago, now here they are in the playoffs. Did you know that Nick Foles has his Divinity Degree from Liberty University? (I was in Lynchburg, Virginia home of Liberty U for work last week and learned this fun fact.) And he must have learned a thing or two from Jesus Christ himself while getting that Divinity degree because he performs miracles on the football field. Chicago is a good team and I think they will win the game, but the Eagles keep it close thanks to BDN. Eagles+6 (WINNER, also a heart breaker for the Bears fans out there)
