These Taste 5 challenges have got our group hyped up! It’s simple, it’s easy, and it’s a lot of fun! Our next adventure was to tackle some (Root) Beers! Look, we can’t always be drinking, I’m sorry. Did you know there are nine hundred seventy three different types of Root Beer? It’s a fact. We only went with 5, though, because…..Taste 5?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are the Root Beer brands we went with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Route Beer 66 (Route 66)
A&W Root Beer
Fitz’s Root Beer
Frostie Root Beer
Faygo Root Beer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invited our old friend “Twisty, Mr. Fisty” Misty to play along so we have 3 distinct opinions, here. The main answer – root beer is tough to distinguish because it’s all kind of root beer-y….? \u00af\\_(\u30c4)_\/\u00af <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interesting thing here is just differences in people. Misty loved the full bodied root beer; the craft root beer. I, personally, did not like it at all. It tasted like “Not Your Father’s Root Beer” with a horrible after taste and lack of the buzz portion of the alcoholic drink. One man’s trash is another (wo)man’s favorite root beer – as the old adage says! Here’s the team’s favorite beers, rated 1-5:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Misty:
Faygo \u2013 really cold \u2013 the most carbonated and bubbly \u2013 most traditional
Fitz\u2019s \u2013 full bodied root beer \u2013 more like a craft root beer
Frostie \u2013 flatter than the other 2.  Not as sweet.
Route 66 \u2013 a little flat \u2013 somewhat sweet but not too sweet
A&W \u2013 tasted like a diet.  Sweetner was odd. A lot lighter.  Flat.  Thought it had an aftertaste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke:
A&W – very syrupy – A&W Fo Sho (I was right)
Frostie \u2013 a little heavy – but a very solid Root Beer
Route 66 – Similar to Frostie – but a good RB
Faygo – Weird aftertaste – a little too dark
Fitz\u2019s \u2013 very bad aftertaste – much like the alcohol mentioned above<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam:
Faygo \u2013 full RB flavor
Frostie \u2013 not far behind
Route 66
A&W – flat
Fitz\u2019s – aftertaste like licorice – gross<\/p>\n\n\n\n
